Capstone Preceptors

Preceptors are crucial to the successful implementation of the Capstone clinical practicum. Although requirements vary across schools of nursing and clinical agencies, you likely were selected based on the following qualifications. You:

  • Have 18 months experience as an RN
  • Have completed training in the preceptor role
  • Agree to precept the nursing student
  • Were recommended by the relevant leader or supervisor for the role

It is preferable for preceptors to be BSN prepared; however, those without a BSN are eligible to be preceptors if a mentor prepared at the BSN or higher level is readily available.

Thank you and Welcome to Capstone!
